Mayor, Ryan Husband

About:
Ryan and his family have called Outlook home since 2013. He loves playing hockey and is a member of hte Outlook Senior Ice Hawks. When he's not on the ice, you'll find him tinkering in the garage, volunteering as a firefighter with the Outlook Rudy Fire Department, or biking around town.

Ryan's day job is in the agriculture industry, specializing in irrigation and drainage. He's passionate about helping farmers manage water effectively to keep feeding the world. In his spare time, he runs a hobby farm with his wife. They grow Haskap berries, raspberries, garlic and other vegetables.

Ryan served as a town councillor from 2020 - 2024 and is now the Mayor of Outlook. He's dedicated to helping the community grow, connect, and reach its full potential through strong leadership and a clear vision.

Andy Long
Councillor

Councillor, Andy Long

About:
Andy was born in Saskatchewan, but raised and grew up in a small town in the foothills of Alberta. He met his future wife in the 7th grade. After high school, one of his first jobs was for the Town of Turner Valley where he was employed with their Public Works department.

In 2008, Andy and his wife made a big life change with a flip of a coin - which led them to making their home to be in Outlook! Andy has worked with the Riverbend Coop Home & Agro for the past 15 years. Andy enjoys working with the public, has a good sense of humor and loves to hunt in his free time.

This is Andy's first time sitting on any council or committee and has been learning a lot in the past few months since being elected for Town Council. He looks forward to the challenges and opportunities to help Outlook thrive!

Donna Smith

Councillor, Donna Smith

About:
Donna (nee Taylor) Smith was born in Outlook and raised on a farm near the Village of Strongfield. Donna graduated from Loreburn Central High School (Grade 12) and Saskatoon Business College (Secretarial Certificate). She was employed as a legal secretary/Law Clerk for the next 15 years. She was approached by the local Co-operators agent who wished to retire. Her career with the Co-operators has spanned 37 years. In 1992, Donna was elected to the Town of Outlook Council and remained an elected official until she chose not to run in 2020. It was interested and she learned a lot from the experience. Donna was privileged to be asked to sit on the SUMA Committee developing an insurance policy for Urban Municipalities.

Donna was married to Lloyd Smith, until his passing in 2021. Donna is a mother of two amazing and loving sons, one smart and beautiful duaghter-in-law and two beautiful, talented and loving granddaughters! She is actively involved in St. Andrew's United Church, as well as two non-profits which were appointments from Town Council (Food Bank and Lake Diefenbaker Tourism). She loves to travel, golf and sing! Her life is full! Donna is also a Board Member of MidSask Community Futures, and loves learning and helping our communities to grow and develop.

Donna was re-elected to Town Council in 2024 and is impressed with the achievements of the 2020-2024 Council.

"This is the true joy in life, being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one. Being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it what I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations." - George Bernard Shaw
